Hawkins French is a singer-song writer as well as the front man for his band. He exploded onto the live music scene in Connecticut in the spring of 2019 and quickly established a large fan base due, in part, to his infectious energy on stage, a warm demeanor, and a powerful and soulful voice.
He has played some of the most prominent venues in the state including The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino, FTC in Fairfield, and the Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford. Hawkins has recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee to write, record, and perform in "Music City." However, he plans on returning regularly to Connecticut for live performances with his band.
The band is comprised of several members with long standing and varied musical backgrounds. This year he has added a female vocalist and a keyboardist to round out the bands phenomenal sound! Hawkins himself, is in the process of releasing singles on Spotify from his debut album entitled "Wounds Unseen" which is due for release in the summer of 2023. The songs on the album are diverse in tempo and style, yet all are characterized by a passionate, raw, and honest vocal performance. All songs on the album are written by Hawkins French and several songs feature performances by the world-renowned, virtuoso cellist, Dave Eggar. Hawkins' songs have been recorded and produced by either Mikhail Pivovarov or Vic Steffens.
They have begun to expand upon their jams and create unique live musical experiences full of harmony rich roots inspired songs that have stories to tell and deep jams that can bring you somewhere else entirely and back again!
They have done venue shows with a bunch of huge acts such as Marshall Tucker Band, Twiddle, Ekoostik Hookah, Melvin Seals & JGB, Max Creek, John Kadlecik, etc as well as done festivals from coast to coast and beyond the mainland US with a list of who’s who bands on the jam scene.
The band has a new album poised to be released in the summer of 2023 and some singles already released off of it have also hit the charts. Without a doubt, keep an eye out for them in the near future!”
The Alpaca Gnomes are a spirited seven-piece rock-folk-jam band based out of Bridgeport, CT. They incorporate violin and saxophone into their well crafted songs along with both acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums and soulful vocals.
The band is as much about community as they are music, as their loyal fans display during live performances as they dance and sing along while sometimes also sporting signature Gnome hats in the crowd. Their dynamic yet earthy sound allows the band to switch seamlessly between originals that span multiple genres and a wide range of ever changing crowd pleasing covers. “I sing for my supper” says Connecticut based rising singer-songwriter, Drew Angus who is just the kind of new blood that makes music so enduring. Drew found his love for music growing up in a house filled with the sounds of artists like Tom Petty, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. He’s Influenced by these classic rock sounds mixed with artists of today like Ben Rector, Amos Lee, and John Mayer.
These voices combined with his own city life experiences, relationships, and obstacles gives Drew a unique and dynamic sound in today’s pop rock/singer-songwriter world. His work ethic and captivating nature have led him down some pretty amazing paths. He has shared the stage with Harry Styles, Nile Rogers, Jonas Blue, Andrea Boccelli, Marc Broussard and more. He has also appeared on Saturday Night Live and was a finalist on American Idol. Drew’s latest EP, “You & Me” is a six track, nostalgia driven compilation drawing on Drew’s memories of growing up and reflects on his time in Brooklyn through the lens of his relationships, both good and bad, while exploring his journey of self discovery. This summer, Drew plays Sound on Sound festival in Bridgeport, CT with Dave Mathews, The Lumineers, and Stevie Nix. Drew is one to watch. Plus he has great hair.
